Destiny 2’s season pass offers exclusive content for new players, but Bungie has yet to implement any kind of unlock system for cosmetics or levels. This would be a way to bring in more money without having the player base drop off.
Destiny 2 is a popular game that has been released on multiple platforms. One of the most requested features from players is to be able to access previous season’s cosmetics, and/or level previous season passes. Bungie has not yet added this feature, but it will soon.

Discussion on Modmail:
“It’s been brought up ever since Halo announced they were doing it, and even more so after Season of the Lost was published due to its length.” u/JustaGayGuy24: “It’s been brought up ever since Halo said they were doing it, and even more so once Season of the Lost was released due to its length. Halo, on the other hand, was designed with that functionality in mind, rather than Bungie having to cram it in.
“If Bungie does it, it will happen after Witch Queen, not before.”
Thy Maker u/Thy Maker u/Thy Maker u/Th “Why should it be included: It’s been approximately a year since I began work on the last version of this article. A much has changed in that time. For starters, there have been changes to the game itself, such as the implementation of transmog (Armor Synthesis), Xûr and Banshee now selling weapons, with Xûr selling playlist and Trials of Osiris weapons, the addition of Trials of the Nine weapons in Prophecy, and the creation of an APK file that allows players to go back to any previous season pass and claim their unclaimed rewards. Outside of Destiny 2, there have been a number of developments, the most notable of which being Bungie’s intention to eliminate FOMO (fear of missing out) in their game. Twitch Prime rewards include the Diselpunk Wardcliff Coil ornament (a Crimson Days ornament obtained by defeating a Leviathan raid or raid lair during Curse of Osiris) and the Dark Horse Sparrow (a sparrow that was only available as a silver only purchase during early Forsaken) as well as the Author Of Devastation ornament for Wish-Ender (also a silver only purchase during early Forsaken) being made available for bright dwarve During this period, I’ve also done some further research on this subject. I’ve seen many postings in this sub, as well as on r/destiny2 and r/DestinyFashion, requesting the inclusion of this or a similar function in the game. I’ve also conducted interviews with a variety of players, including those who have all of these cosmetics, some of them, none of them, only partially completed sets, and players who have lost theirs due to cross save. The majority of players said they want this feature, with the cosmetics offered in Year 1 or those tied to sunset activities that had a low drop rate, such as the Mars cosmetics, being the top pain point. Players also expressed a desire to preserve the achievements associated with some of these cosmetics, proposing solutions such as allowing only those who were present to earn them, tying them to content of similar difficulty, or making a color-swapped version available for silver, akin to the Prismatic Matrix. This should be included since many players want these cosmetics, and fashion is a fun aspect of Destiny that has no bearing on gameplay. If weapons tied to difficult content like raids and Trials, quests, or rare drops from playlist activities are being sold by vendors like Banshee and Xûr or through the exotic kiosk, and the TotN weapons are available from a dungeon, why shouldn’t something that has no impact on gameplay be redistributed back into the game?”
The following are some examples:
