The best cities in RuneScape have been debated for years. Some say it is the city of Draynor, others say it is Varrock. In this article, I will rank the top 10 best cities in Old School RuneScape based on a number of factors including population size, economy, and popularity.

Old School RuneScape is a game that was released in 2001. It has since gone through many updates and expansions, but the game still remains popular today.

There are many cities in RuneScape.

From huge busy trade stations to Vampyre-run blood farms, each has its own distinct appeal. Yes, each city has its own distinct style and appeal.

But, in OSRS, what makes a city really great?

What distinguishes some from others?

Aside from appeal, cities must have something that draws gamers in and makes them want to visit.

So, without further ado, here are my top choices for the greatest cities in the world!

Lumbridge is number fifteen.

This is the start of your journey!

After completing the tutorial, everyone begins in Lumbridge. As a result, everyone should be aware of this location.

Fortunately, the region is filled with instructors who can provide you guidance and may even have a few things that may help you along the road.

Beginner level missions and creatures surround the city, which may help you rapidly boost your stats.

There are a few stores here that offer basic goods like axes, tinderboxes, maps, and other necessities.

While you may not want to come back here for a while once your adventures begin, you will want to stop by from time to time.

And don’t forget about your origins.

Yanille (#14)

The City of Yanille in OSRS screenshot

Yanille lies south of Tree Gnome Village, near Castle Wars.

It’s where you’ll find the Magic Guild and the Nightmare Zone, so expect to spend considerable time here.

There are also a number of training locations nearby, including the renowned Yanille Dungeon, which houses the ominous treasure!

In addition, if you go to world 330, you’ll see that the city’s house portal is extremely busy, with individuals holding house parties and teaching prayer in their homes.

There are a few stores and bars in the city that are worth visiting on their own.

There’s also a sand pit if you need buckets of sand.

Check out the missions in the city and surrounding areas as well; some offer great rewards!

Al Kharid (#13)

The City of Al Kharid in OSRS screenshot

Al Kharid is often the first stop for new players when they arrive in Lumbridge.

The city is located in the desert, and there are numerous camels and scorpions roaming the area.

Watch out for the scorpions, since they may quickly send a novice player to their death!

The city also includes a low-level agility course on the roof, as well as a mining area where you can get some early game ores.

This is a free-to-play locale, much as Lumbridge.

The Shantay Pass, which serves as the gateway to the remainder of the desert, is also situated here.

I should also mention that the famed Duel Arena is located here, where high-level gamers wager billions of dollars against one another.

You may watch (or participate) in world 302 if you wish to.

Rellekka is 12 years old.

The City of Rellekka in OSRS screenshot

The inhabitants are supposed to resemble real-life Vikings, and the city has a Nordic feel.

On the docks of Rellekka, you’ll find a plethora of longboats and ships that will transport you to nearby islands like Waterbirth Island, Jatizo, Lunar Isle, and Neitiznot.

As a consequence, the city resembles a massive harbor.

To get appropriate access to the city and its facilities as an outsider, you must finish the quest “Fremennik Trials.”

In addition, this region includes a bustling marketplace, rooftop agility for players level 80 and above, and is near to the Trollweiss Hunter Area, which is geared for players just learning the Hunter skill!

Edgeville is number eleven.

The City of Edgeville in OSRS screenshot

Edgeville is known for being the town on the edge of the Wilderness, thus the name!

As a consequence of its proximity to the Wilderness ditch, it is the most popular town for Pk’ing.

Anyone is invited to explore this metropolis since it is also F2P.

Edgeville is particularly important because of its furnace, which is located near a bank. This is used by many players to create cannonballs and jewelry.

It’s also a popular spot because to its proximity to the Abyss. If you want to learn Runecrafting this method, you’ll have to sprint across the city.

Finally, you may enter the Edgeville dungeon from here, which is often utilized to charge orbs and get slayer assignments.

Taverley is number ten.

The City of Taverley in OSRS screenshot

Taverley, Taverley, Taverley, Taverley, Taverley

This is the first city that many new gamers visit after joining. It’s near the renowned gate, which can be viewed by any F2P character but can only be passed through by members.

Druids live in Taverley, thus it’s a good place for novice players to learn about the Herblore talent!

It’s also home to the Heroes’ Guild, which many seasoned adventurers will want to join.

But I believe Taverley is most known for the Taverley Dungeon, which is home to a variety of creatures like the Blue Dragon, Black Dragons, Hellhounds, and Cerberus.

Canifis (nine)

The City of Canifis in OSRS screenshot

Werewolves have taken over Canifis. It’s also the first city in Morytania that adventurers may visit after finishing the quest “Priest in Peril.”

You’ll discover a lot of interesting things in Canifis:

A low-level slayer master, a rooftop agility course, the renowned Canifis Slayer Tower, and an entrance to Mort Myre Swamp are all found here.

The rooftop agility course is particularly well-known, since it offers players a lot of elegant marks and early experience.

The majority of gamers will also wish to thoroughly investigate the surrounding region. Canifis is also a good base of operations, particularly given the quests that abound in the area.

Mor Ul Rek is number eight.

The City of Mor Ul Rek in OSRS screenshot

Mor Ul Rek is a Tzhaar city located deep inside the Karamja Volcano.

It is the home of the Tzhaar golems and includes some of OSRS’ most difficult challenges, including the Fight Caves and Inferno.

The city’s outskirts, on the other hand, are accessible to everyone. There are a number of helpful stores in this area, as well as the Fight Caves, Fight Pits, and several ores to mine.

The only way to get inside the city’s inner sanctum is to show the guards a Fire Cape, after which they’ll let you in.

And it’s worth it, since the huge Inferno, as well as a variety of other activities, are situated in the city’s inner reaches:

Fishing for hellish eels, thievery, mineral mining (including rune rocks), and an armour shop selling the uncommon obsidian armour are all included.

This isn’t a place for the faint-hearted.

Only genuine PvM masters will have full access to it.

Tree Gnome Stronghold, No. 7

The Tree Gnome Stronghold in OSRS screenshot

This vast region occupies a significant part of the map. And, well, it’s a gnome fortress!

The Grand Tree, which sits in the middle of the Stronghold and has several levels, is the focal point of the whole Stronghold.

Inside, you’ll discover the first agility course, as well as monsters to train with, high-level trees for woodcutting, farming patches, Gnome Ball, the Gnome restaurant mini-game, a high-level slayer master, and the famous Stronghold Slayer cave.

There are even a few stores to choose from!

As you can see, there’s much to do around here.

This region is jam-packed with material, and every OSRS explorer should spend some time here.

Darkmeyer, no. 6

The City of Darkmeyer in OSRS screenshot

Darkmeyer is the newest addition to OSRS, as well as the capital of the Morytania region.

It’s a city made up entirely of Vampyres.

So, if you want to wander the city, you’ll need to disguise yourself, otherwise you’ll be assaulted right away.

Darkmeyer is split into three levels, each of which has its own vampyre caste.

The Daeyalt mines are located on the bottom tier and are helpful for those who want to practice mining and Runecrafting.

The extremely difficult Hallowed Sepulchre, which is essentially a complicated agility course, is located on the middle tier.

The Blisterwood tree and vampyre sentinels may be found on the highest and final tier, where many players look for the rare Blood shard.

To get access to the whole region, you must first finish the Myerque quest line’s fifth chapter, “Sins of the Father.”

5. The Village of the Seers

The City of Seers’ Village in OSRS screenshot

Strangely enough, Seers’ Village is inhabited by Seers.

It’s a little town close west of Camelot that offers a range of helpful activities.

Seers’ Rooftop Agility, for example, is one of the most popular agility locations in the game.

However, there are many woodcutting choices available from maple, yew, and magic trees, as well as the enigmatic elemental workshop and flax fields.

The Seers’ Village bank is also extremely popular since it is one of the closest teleport locations to a bank, assuming the hard diary has been finished.

For the sake of convenience, players are continuously teleporting here.

Falador is number four.

The City of Falador in OSRS screenshot

The city of white knights is another name for this location. Falador is also home to the White Knight Order, which is housed in the city’s main castle.

This is also a free-to-play city with many missions for free-to-play gamers!

The Mining Guild, however, is located in this city and needs a mining level of 60 to join.

It’s also home to the Motherload mine, which is one of the finest places in OSRS to get mining experience.

Like most large cities, it also features a rooftop agility course.

In addition, Falador has a lovely park under which the Giant Mole boss may be found!

The city itself is also very lovely. There are businesses all throughout the place, including a barbershop where you may alter your character’s hairstyle. Without a doubt!

It’s also simple to get to and open to the public, so come have a look.

Ardougne is number three.

The City of Ardougne in OSRS screenshot

As the capital of the Kandarin area, this city is enormous, and it is likely the largest city in the whole game.

It’s divided between east and west zones, but you’ll have to start the elven quest line to figure out why. There are no spoilers here…

However, returning to facilities, this city is so large that it even has its own zoo!

It also has the highest-level rooftop agility course, which requires level 90 to access.

It also includes a large marketplace where gamers may improve their stealing skills or get fighting experience by killing guards.

The Servants’ Guild, two banks, and a teleport point to the rune essence mines are all located in the city.

There are several missions inside (and around) the city proper if you look hard enough.

Varrock is number two.

The City of Varrock in OSRS screenshot

Varrock is the largest city in F2P and the capital of Misthalin, whereas Ardougne is the largest city in OSRS.

Varrock has long been linked with business, since it is home to the Grand Exchange. And before the Grand Exchange, players would go to Varrock’s west bank in droves to trade their products!

The city, like many others, features a rooftop agility course targeted for beginners.

Quests, taverns, inns, stores, and even a museum are all available!

The west bank is a popular choice since it’s fairly large, plus there’s an anvil just across the street, making Smithing training a breeze.

At some time throughout the game, you’ll find yourself in this city. It constantly appears to entice gamers to return!

Prifddinas (Prifddinas) (Prifddinas

The City of Prifddinas in OSRS screenshot

The elf city of Prifddinas, the capital of Tirannwn, takes the top position in this list.

Only those who have proved themselves to be genuine friends of the Elven people have access to this region, which is a magnificent mix of crystals and nature.

You’ll need to have finished the Grandmaster quest “Song of the Elves” to accomplish this, which isn’t simple.

However, after you’ve gained entry to the city, you’ll have a plethora of options!

You’ll be able to utilize the unique rooftop course here, just as in the other cities on this list (naturally). Instead of grace marks, this course drops crystal shards.

You may also try The Gauntlet, battle Zalcano, explore the Grand Library, and fight slayer creatures in the Iorwerth Dungeon… There’s a lot of it.

You may also check out (and steal from) the marketplace, as well as some high-level shops and much more if you’re searching for items.

Prifddinas is a really exquisite game that is geared for advanced players.

Once you’ve acquired entry to this magnificent metropolis, you’ll be able to call yourself a real explorer.
